Gladys P. Estes

1920 - 2015


Together AgainNiles - Gladys Pearl Estes, 94, died Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.

Gladys was born July 2, 1920, in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of Floyd E. and Lauretta B. (Lawrence) Pilger.

She was an Army veteran of WWII, and was later employed by Republic Steel in Niles. She  later worked for Trumbull Memorial Hospital as a register nurse, retiring in 1957.

Gladys married Lyle W. Estes on September 9, 1950. Lyle died in 2007.

Gladys leaves behind two sons, William and Thomas Estes; a brother, Dr. Lawrence G. Pilger; a sister, Ann Pilger Tereba; and three grandchildren, Lyle Wayne Estes, Thomas William Estes and Sandra Lynn Estes.

Her husband and brother, Floyd E. Pilger, Jr. preceded Gladys in death.

There will be no calling hours or funeral service.


 
Jean M. Bondy

1929 - 2015

McDonald - Jean Marie Bondy, 85, died early Sunday morning, January 11, 2015, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren.

Jean was born March 9, 1929 in Girard, the daughter of John and Mary (Michaels) Laase.

She married Ray Bondy in 1984. Ray died in 2009.

Jean leaves behind her daughter, Cheryl Nelson; four sisters, Mary Germann of Cleveland,  Rita Hawkins of Virginia, Pat Evans of Warren and Cathy Dooley of Niles; four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Her husband and a daughter, Gayle Bartholomew, preceded her in death.

There will be no calling hours and services will be private.

Selby Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.



Robert T. Krauss, Sr.

1934 - 2015

Robert KraussBrookfield - Robert T. Krauss, 80, died Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.

Robert was born May 27, 1934, in Hickory, PA, the son of Albert J. and Mildred (Adams) Krauss.

He married Barbara L. Krauss on February 12, 1971.

Robert retired from the Shenango Valley Water Co. after 45 years of employment as a plant mechanic in April of 1996.

He leaves behind his wife, Barbara; two sons, Robert (Janice) Krauss, Jr. of West Middlesex, and Paul Redmon (Sherry Bueshler) of Dover, OH; a daughter Deobrah Redmon of Houston, PA; four grandchildren, Randy Krauss, Kurt Redmon, Samantha Redmon and Nicholas Redmon; and two great grandchildren.

Robert’s parents, and brother, John, preceded him in death.

Calling hours for Robert will be held Friday, from 10 to 11 am, with the funeral service at 11 am. at Crown Hill’s Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna.

Entombment will take place at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.

Helen I. Fusselman

1910 - 2015

Helen I. FusselmanCortland - Helen I. Fusselman, 104, died early Thursday morning, January 15, 2015 at Gillette Nursing Home in Warren.

Helen was born March 12, 1910, in Canton, Ohio, the daughter of Cecil P. and Olive Ruth (Elson) Janson..

She earned a Master’s Degree from Kent State, and went on to teach in the Warren City School District for 38 years, retiring on May 23, 1978.

Helen attended Central Christian Church in Warren. 

She belonged to the Bridge Club and played tournament bridge. She was also an avid golfer and enjoyed art.

She married Donald Fusselman on June 19, 1937 and they enjoyed 67 years of marriage. 

Donald died in April of 2004.

Helen leaves behind a son, Kent (Gerry) of Cortland; a daughter, Sandra (Dean) Roush of Sebring; seven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Helen’s husband, Donald; brother, Wendell (Bud) Janson and a sister, Esther Kinsley, preceded her in death.

Calling hours for Helen will be held from 10 am to 11 am, Monday, January 19, with the service to follow at 11 am, at Crown Hill’s Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna. Pastor Myron Daum will be officiating.

In leiu of flowers, material tributes may be sent to Crossroads Hospice, 9775 Rockside Rd., Suite 270, Valley View, Ohio, 44125.

Entombment will take place at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.

Cora A. Kelley

1951 - 2015


Warren - Cora A. Kelley, 64, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at her residence 

Cora was born January 15, 1951, in Belzoni, MS, the daughter of Beatrice (Kelly) Wade.

She was a graduate of Warren Harding High School and a member of King of Kings Fellowship. Cora was an avid bowler and cook, and loved attending her church.

Cora leaves behind two daughters, Alisa Wade of Warren and Nicola Wade of Kansas City; brothers, Earl, Percey, Jerre, and Timothy Wade and Norris Kelley, all of Warren; sisters, Desiree McMillon, Annie Jones, Mary Wade, Teresa Howard and Jean Lampley all of Warren; grandchildren, Keith Harris of Warren, Brielle Wren of Kansas City.

Cora’s mother, Beatrice Wade preceded her in death.

A memorial service for Cora will be held 11:00 am, Friday, January 30, 2015, at King of Kings Fellowship, 634 Hoyt St. Warren, OH  44485.

Selby Funeral Home handled the arrangements.



Edward E. Rubins

1929 - 2015

Edward E. RubinsOcala - Edward E. Rubins, 88, formerly of Vienna, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015, in Ocala, FL.

Edward was born October 29, 1926 in Cleveland, OH, the son of Edward M. and Mary C. (Barham) Rubins.

He was a 1945 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Edward married Nancy Gorog on August 24, 1963. She died on February 2, 2006.

He was the owner and operator of Elm Auto Supply, retiring in 1981, and was a former member of the Johnson V.F.W. and a Boy Scout Master. 

Edward leaves behind two daughters, Lynnor (Kenneth) Goodwin of Ocala, FL, and Maralee Plant of Niles; five grandchildren, Robert Taylor, Rubin Plant, Vernon L. Plant III, Carolyn Plant and Benjamin Plant and five great-grandchildren.

His wife of over 40 years, Nancy Rubins and a sister, Alice Elizabeth Windsor Loveless preceded Edward in death.

There will be visitation for family and friends on Wednesday, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna.
