John H. Ramsey

1941 - 2013


John H. RamseyVienna - John H. Ramsey, 72, passed away Friday, December 6, 2013 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital after an extended illness with his family at his side.

John was born on August 18, 1941 in Winona W.Va., the son of Niles and Goldie Ramsey. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Hazel Hall and three brothers, Eugene, Thomas and Ronald.

He is survived by his wife, Deloris, whom he married February 15, 1962; a sister, Eloise (Bill) Myles; brothers, James (Myrtle), Jack and Bernard (Helen) Ramsey; his children, Jonna (Jim) Tait of Illinois, Donna Ramsey of Vienna and John Ramsey Jr. of Fowler; grandchildren, Brett (Regina) Ramsey, Amber Ramsey, Adam Tait, John Tait, John Ramsey III and Lillian Ramsey; a step-granddaughter, Brittney Powell; great grandchildren, Evan and Kayden Ramsey, Rilee Paddock and Ruby Ramsey; two step-great-grandchildren, Brennan and Tegan Barnard.

John will be sadly missed by his niece, Rose Ferry, whom he loved like a daughter, and her children, Kayla, Kyle and Connor and his extended family, Trena (Darron) Barnard and many nieces and nephews.

John was a retired welder and union laborer for Local 125. 

He loved hunting and spending time with his family.

Family and friends may come to a remembrance gathering on Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna, Ohio.

Bernice M. Davis

1924 - 2013

WARREN - Bernice M. "Bea" Davis, 89, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at the Cleveland Clinic.

She was born July 12, 1924, and worked at Warren General Hospital.

Survivors include her granddaughter, Kimberly Everhart, whom she raised; a grandson; 12 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

There will be no services or calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by Selby Funeral Home in Vienna.
 

 
Joann E. Barrows

1954 - 2013

ustintown - Joann E. Barrows, 59, of Austintown, passed away unexpectedly at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren. She was born     November 22, 1954 in Jackson, Michigan, to Carol J. (nee Bailow) and the late Edward R. Stasiak.

Ms. Barrows was a graduate of Youngstown State University and was a CPA with the offices of Barrows and Company, CPA. She was also the founder of Second Chance Animal Rescue. Joann was truly devoted to the saving, rescuing and adopting of many felines. Her family will     remember her as hard working, detail oriented and a giving person.

She is survived by her mother, Carol J. Stasiak; sister, Barbara J. Watts; brother, Edward (Patricia) Stasiak; and nieces and nephews, Nicole, Luke and Caleb Watts and Ashley and    Jacob Stasiak.

She is preceded in death by her father.

Family will receive friends at the Crown Hill Burial Park Chapel Mausoleum, 3966 Warren Sharon Rd., Vienna, on Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 5 to 8 P.M. A committal service will be held at Crown Hill on Monday, January 6 at 11 A.M.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Joann, may be given to the Second Chance Animal Rescue, PO BOX 4867, Austintown, Ohio, 44515.

Paul Diurba


1926 - 2013


Paul DiurbaPaul Diurba, 87, of Warren, Ohio left to be with the Lord, Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home in Howland.

He was born April 29, 1926 in Sharpsville, PA the son of John and Susan (Grexa) Diurba. Paul graduated from Johnston High School in 1945. He married the love of his life Betty L. Hudson on August 25, 1948. Paul was an avid polka dancer and loved working with his hands. There were very few things that he could not fix or fabricate.

Paul was employed for 20 years with Western Reserve Lumber Co., and retired from Cortland Transformer in 1987 after 21 years of service. He was also employed with Warren Marble and Granite Co. for four years. Paul was a member of Bazetta Christian Church and the Cortland Moose Lodge.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Betty L. Diurba; sons Terry (Sandy) of Odin, IL, Randy (Brenda) of Champion and Ronnie (Barbara) of Merritt, FL; five grandchildren, Tami (Pat) Fortune, Michelle (Matt) Mrakovich, Jason (Chrissy) Kalish, Kelly Diurba and Kristi (Brad) Schrimpf; 10 great-grandchildren, Patrick, Taylor, Connor, Carson, Aiden, Addison, Alissa, Emilee, Tyler and Jacob;  and a sister, Helen Durst of Orwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Linda S. Kalish; brothers, John, Joseph and George Diurba; and sisters, Mary Petrula, Susan Stacconi and Ann Fester.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 12 noon, at Crown Hill Burial Park and Mausoleum, 3966 Warren Sharon Rd., Vienna, Ohio, with Rev. Paul Leone, officiating. Friends may call at the mausoleum chapel on Saturday, January 4 from 10 A.M. until time of services at 12 NOON.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Paul may be made to the Bazetta Christian Church, 4131 Bazetta Rd., Cortland, Ohio, 44410 or Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, Ohio, 44512.
