Linda L. Mandel
1940 - 2011
Warren - Linda Louise Mandel, 71, of Warren, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
Linda was born February 18, 1940 in Warren, the daughter of Howard and Martha (Geer) Hogan.
She was a graduate of Harding High School.
Linda married Sydney S. Mandel November 24, 1985.
Survivors include two daughters, Julia Seng of Paris, France and Janice Schwartz of Baltimore, MD; a brother, Donald Hogan of MI: two sisters Kathleen Houp of NC and Learae Pillar of AZ; and one grandchild, Josiah Seng.
Linda’s parents and husband, Sydney S. Mandel, whom she married in 1985, preceded her in death.
There will be a memorial service at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 8th, at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna.
Inurnment will take place at Crown Hill Burial Park.
Donald R. Martin
1935 - 2011
Warren - Donald R. Martin, 75, of Warren, died Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
Donald was born May 3, 1935 in Warren, Ohio, the son of Richard and Verda (Knell) Martin.
He attended Howland High School, and served in the United States Marine Corp.
Donald was a bricklayer for more than 30 years.
He was a member of the Army & Navy Garrison and the VFW Post 1090 in Warren, and the American Legion in Leavittsburg.
Donald was a fan of the Cleveland Indians and Browns and enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning.
He leaves behind two sons, Edward of Howland and Michael of Southington; a sister, Cheryl (Donald) Arborgast; three grandsons, Ryan, Zachary and Alec; and two great grandsons, Dominic and Landon.
Preceding Donald in death are his parents; three sisters, Helen (Bill) Burris, Janet (Bill) Sawyer and June Bair; and a brother, Carl Martin.

Raymond W. Pierce
1930 - 2011
Brookfield- Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Selby-Simpson Funeral Home in Vienna for Raymond W. Pierce, age 80, of Brookfield, who died early Saturday morning at Meadowbrook Manor.
Raymond was born August 5, 1930 in Warren to the late Ward C. and Elizabeth P. (Clark) Pierce.
He was a Veteran of the U. S. Army serving in the 2nd Armor Division, Company D, 67th Tank Battalion during the Korean War. Raymond was employed, as a manager, with Sparkle Market from 1963 to 1975 and employed as a driver with Borden Dairy from 1975 until his retirement in 1992.
Raymond was a member of the American Legion Post #506 in Kinsman, the Moose Lodge #1012 in Cortland, and Teamsters Local #377. He was an avid golfer and bowler, Past President of the Crest Lanes Senior League, and the Tuesday Traveling Golf League, and Friday League at Prestwick.
Raymond is survived by his four sons, Douglas and James both of Bristolville, David of Warren, and Dennis of West Mecca; three grandsons, a granddaughter, two great-grandsons, and two great-granddaughters; a brother Rev. Donald Owensboro, KY; and a sister Ruth Bowen of Dunedin, FL.
Raymond also leaves his companion Betty Shaffer.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Chester and Hubert, and his sister Virginia.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial in Crown Hill Burial Park.
Betty M. Calhoun
1935 - 2011
Cortland- Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Selby-Simpson Funeral Home’s Chapel Mausoleum, in Vienna for Betty M. Calhoun, age 75, of Cortland, who died early Sunday morning at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
Betty was born May 9, 1935 in Dorothy, West Virginia to the late Harley and Pauline (White) Jarrell.
She was a graduate of Clearfork High School. Betty was a member of the Morgandale Church of the Nazarene. She retired from K-mart after several years working as a Stock Clerk.
Betty is survived by a daughter Patricia (Allan) Brooks of Andover, three sons, Scott Jr., of Cortland, Daniel (Mary Jo) of Warren and Jeffrey of Cortland, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a sister Nancy Johnson of Cortland, two brothers, Gary and Larry Jarrell both of Cortland.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Scott Winfield Calhoun whom she married November 25, 1955, he died September 7, 2008; a grandson David Allen Hall, four sisters, Beulah, Judy, Phyllis, and Carol, and a brother Ernest.
Friends may call Thursday 5-8 p.m. and Friday morning 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home located at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.
1933 - 2011
Niles - David Rangel, 77, of Niles, died Friday morning, March 25. 2011, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
David was born April 13, 1933, in Moline, IL, the son of Isaac and Frances (Olbra) Rangel.
He attended Moline High School and later served in the U.S. Army.
David came to this area in 1988 and worked at Delphi. He retired as a machine repairman.
David leaves behind a wife, Betty Rangel, whom he married October 25, 1985; daughters, Lisa Stout of MS, Deneen Hobart of IL, Becky Rangel of IL, and Mary Hill of NC; three sons, Justin Rangel of Niles, Michael Hill of Niles and Kevin. He also leaves four brothers, Paul, Ike, Ernie and Joe Rangel.
His parents, a sister Lil Elvira and sons, Joshua E and Thomas Rangel precede David in death.
Calling hours will be 10 am to 12 pm Tuesday, at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna. The memorial service will begin following calling hours at 12 pm.
