Walter O. Osborne

1924 - 2010

Walter O. Osborne, 85, of Sebring, died Tuesday afternoon, March 2, 2010, at Copeland Oaks.
 
Walter was born December 12, 1924 in Massillon, Oh., the son of William and Marie (Heckendorn) Osborne.
 
Walter attended Westlyn University and was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII.
 
He married Patricia Davenport on April 6, 1948. Patricia passed away in October of 2006.
 
Walter leaves behind a son, Todd D. (Lucia) Osborne of Massillon, Ohio; a brother, Ronald (Jan) Osborne of Dayton; sisters, Norma Gerlach of Sebring and Judy Dommer of Findley; two grandchildren, Christopher and Mark Osborne; and two great-grandchildren.
 
Preceding Walter in death are his parents, wife Patricia; brothers, William and Frank; and sister, Helen.
 
Private services will be held at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna.
 
Selby-Simpson Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
 
Entombment will take place at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna.



Ben Rodin

1918 - 2010
 

Niles - Ben Rodin, 92, died at Shepard of the Valley in Niles on Wednesday, March 3, 2010.
 
Ben was born January 2, 1918 in Campbell, Ohio, the son of John and Mary Rodin.
 
Ben served in the US Army during WWII and later owned at rural propane gas service for forty years.
 
He married Maureen Jellison November 29, 1947. Maureen passed away December 12, 2000.
 
Ben served on the board of trustees and was a member of the Second Christian Church of Warren.
 
Surviving Ben are two sisters, Sophie Alverez of Lorain, Oh and Zona Andrews of Ft. Pierce, Fla. And many nieces and nephews.
 
His wife and brother, Nicholas Rodin preceded him in death.
 
Funeral services will be at 1:30 pm, Saturday at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna, where friends and family may call one hour prior to service.

Grace I. Gibbs

1918 - 2010


Tampa, FL - Grace I. Gibbs, 91, formerly of Richard St. in Vienna, died Friday, March 12, 2010 at Habana Health Care Center in Tampa, FL.
 
Grace was born November 13, 1918, in Millvale, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Albert and Laura (Rother) Kramer.
 
She attended Robert Morris Business School.
 
Grace leaves behind one son, Richard W. Gibbs of Brooksville, Florida.
 
She is preceded in death by her husband, Winfield D. Gibbs, who died July 22, 2001 and a sister, Mildred.
 
No services were held. Grace was interred at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna, Oh.

Louise M. DeRubba

1918 - 2010

Louise DeRubbaVienna - Louise M. DeRubba, 91, formerly of Vienna, died Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Briarfield at the Ridge in Mineral Ridge.
 
Louise was born October 25, 1918, in Girard, the daughter of John and Nancy (Callard) DeRubba.
 
She graduated from Vienna High School, Class of 1936 of which she was the Class President. She also graduated from Youngstown Business School.
 
Louise retired from General Electric as an Office Manager after 30 years of service. After retirement, she worked in the bakery at Giant Eagle in Howland for 10 years.
 
Louise was a member of Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church and volunteered for many of the activities of the church.
 
Louise is survived by her sister, Christine Nelson of Vienna and a brother John DeRubba of Colorado.
 
“Aunt Lou” also leaves a multitude of nieces and nephews with loving and cherished memories. These included countless vacations, picnics, swimming and adventures. She was known for her endless supply of food, drink and fun! The entire family used her as a sounding board and support in the trials and tribulations of life.
 
She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Anthony DeRubba.
 
Calling hours will be held at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna, on Tuesday, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church at 10:00 am on Wednesday March 31st. Prayer services will be held at the Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum at 9:30 am Wednesday.
 
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Briarfield at the Ridge for their love and excellent care and being Louise's other family for the past 5 years.
 
Burial will be at Crown Hill Burial Park in Vienna, Oh.




Anne Peigowski

1918 - 2010

Anne Peigowski, formerly of Vienna, Ohio, 91, died on March 28, 2010 at Concord Health Care Center.
 
She was born on November 7, 1918, in Youngstown, the daughter of Theodore Peigowski and Yustina (Jenny) Wywiurka Peigowski Stanko.
 
Anne was a very talented seamstress and worked in New York City during WWII, later in Arizona, California, and Cleveland. After retiring form Weatherbee Coat Factory in Youngstown, Anne ran an alteration business from her home for many years. She was of the Protestant faith and had attended Bazetta Christian Church. Her hobbies included ceramics, leather crafted and porcelain dolls.
 
Survivors include her brother, Peter Peigowski (Sally), special sister-in-law June Peigowski, special-needs niece, Donna Rowold, who lived with Anne for more than 25 years, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents, stepfather Mike Stanko, brothers, Steve and Leo Peigowski, sister Mary Rowold, and nephew Jeffrey Rowold.
 
Calling hour will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm, at Crown hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna, and funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 3:00 pm also at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum
 
Burial will take place at Crown Hill Burial Park.
 
The family would like to thank all the staff of Concord Health Care Center for their kindness, care and concern for Anne was greatly appreciated.

Rose M. Butto

1924 - 2010


Niles— Rose M. Butto, 85, of Niles, passed away late Tuesday evening, March 30, 2010 at her residence.
 
Rose was born July 17, 1924 in Niles, the daughter of Anthony and Theresa (Ambrose) Salerno.
 
Rose married Samuel A. Butto May 7, 1955. Sam died one week before his wife on March 23 of this year.
 
Rose was a very courageous woman who overcame many obstacles in her life. She and Sam did it together. Everyone who knew her has their own memory of how she touched their life.
 
Rose will be sadly missed by her brothers Frank, Morris and Joe Salerno; and sister Carmel Vennetti.
 
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Sam, who was her primary caregiver that words can not describe; and her sister, Mary Cannell.

A prayer service will begin at 11:00 am and visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Saturday at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna. Fr. Larry Frient will officiate.
 
Burial will take place in Crown Hill Burial Park.
