Edith A. Culver

1937 - 2018

 

Southington - Edith Louise Allshouse Culver, 80, passed away on Saturday morning May 26, 2018, at her home in Southington.

Edith was born in Kittanning, PA on December 21, 1937, the daughter of Herman and Ester (Bechtel) Allshouse.

She was employed at Packard Electric from 1962 to 1993, where she     retired after 31 years.

Edith leaves behind two sons, Timothy A. (Brenda) Culver of Niles and Michael A. (Karyn) Culver of Girard; a daughter, Melinda Culver-Mansfield of Southington; a sister-in-law, Doris Allshouse of Distant, PA. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Timothy R. Culver of Niles, Krista Culver-Ayers of Fort Mead, MD, Angela Bryant of Alliance, Tabatha Mansfield-Jenkins of Fort Campbell, KY, Drew Mansfield of Clarksville, TN, Courtney Culver of Deerfield, OH, and Jordan and Kaitlyn Culver of Girard; and eight great-grandchildren.

Edith is preceded in death by her father, Herman Allshouse and Mother Ester Bowser Allshouse, thirteen brothers and sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may pay their respects for Edith on Saturday, June 2, 2018. Calling hours will be from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna. Pastor Nicholas Furrie of The Shiloh Full Gospel Church in Girard will officiate.

After the service, there will be a gathering at the Shiloh Full Gospel Church, 1310 Shannon Rd. Girard, Ohio 44420.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Selby-Fox Funeral Home.


 Edward G. Hoffman

1960 - 2018

 

Vienna - Edward G. Hoffman, 58, died Monday, May 28, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Youngstown.

Edward was born January 9, 1960 in Youngstown , OH, the son of Louis and Helen (Callahan) Hoffman.

He was a UPS freight driver for 19 years.

Edward is survived by his wife Pam (Pickering) Hoffman, who he married on July 12, 1986. Also surviving is a son, Brandon Hoffman of Vienna; daughter, Ashley Hoffman of Vienna; a brother, Rob (Pat) Hoffman of  Hartville, OH; sisters, Carol (Ted) Batchelder of Cortland, Mary (Dale) Price of Vancouver, WA, and Chris (Jeff) Cremeans of Liberty Twp. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Edward were his parents, Louis and Pat Hoffman.

There will be no services per Edward’s request.

 Florence M. Talkington

1916 - 2018

 

Florence M. Talkington Warren - Florence M. Talkington, 101, died Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at her residence.

Florence was born August 20, 1916 in Warren, OH, the daughter of John R. and Carrie (Baldwin) Ulam.

Florence attended Warren G. Harding High School. She was a Republican committee woman and a member of the Sweet Adelines. Florence was also a member of the Grant Cook Bird Watching Club.

Florence married Robert R. Talkington on November 27, 1936. Robert died in March of 1994.

Florence loved nature, especially bird watching. She also enjoyed reading, learning about local history and listening to music.

She leaves behind a son, David N. Talkington of Warren; a daughter, Norma Holzbach of    Warren; and three grandchildren, Robert Talkington, David (Ashley) Talkington and Carrie Talkington, all of Warren.

Services for Florence will be private.

The family requests that any material tributes be sent to: Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. Warren, OH 44483.

Linda Barr

1958 - 2018

 

Linda BarrWarren - Linda Barr, 59, died Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Autumn Hills in Niles.

Linda was born August 6, 1958 in Manhattan, KS, the daughter of        Eugene and Ethel (Zuschlag) Barr.

She was a graduate of Champion High School.

Linda loved science fiction and was a member of the USS Renegade Star Trek Club of Youngstown and also loved attending the conventions. She also enjoyed gardening and being outside. She was often taking care of family and friend’s children. Linda was an avid party planner and was a very passionate baker and decorator.

Linda leaves behind brothers, Michael (Darla) Barr of Champion and Brian Barr of Columbus; and sister, Jennifer (Gordon) Sworthout of Jefferson, OH.

Her mother, Ethel Barr preceded her in death.

Services for Linda will be on Friday, June 15, at 1:00 pm, at Crown Hill Chapel Mausoleum in Vienna.
