Shirley M. Leecue

1934 - 2014


Warren - Shirley Mae Leecue, 79, of Warren passed way Friday, January 3, 2014 surrounded by her loving family.

Shirley was born July 19, 1934 in Warren the daughter of the late Clifford and Estelle Mauger.

She was a 1953 graduate of Warren G. Harding and was employed with Packard Electric after graduation. Shirley then became a sales associate with the Longaberger Basket Co. and retired from Sears after 25 years of service.

On February 11, 1956 Shirley was united in marriage with Charles H. Leecue and together they shared 57 beautiful years of marriage.

Mrs. Leecue was a member of St. Roberts Church in Cortland and was a volunteer at the soup kitchen. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, card clubs, bus trips and most of all loved her family and friends.

Loving memories of Shirley are held by her husband, Charles H. Leecue; a son, Greg (Lori) Leecue of Howland; a daughter, Lori Carpenter of Howland. She cherished her four grandchildren, Kristin Carpenter, Benjamin (Zoe) Carpenter and Brendan and Connor Leecue. She is also survived by a sister Joyce (Robert) Anderson of Warren; and a brother, Jerry (Thomasine) Mauger of Cortland.

Per the family’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services. Cremation and burial of ashes will be held at Crown Hill Burial Park and Mausoleum. A private family gathering will take place to celebrate her “Love of Life.”

Ruth B. Nash

1929 - 2014


NashRuth Beatrice Nash, 84, passed away peacefully at Trumbull Memorial Hospital on Friday, January 3, 2014.

She was born November 30, 1929 in Charleoi, Pennsylvania the daughter of Albert and Olive (Leach) Como. 

Ruth graduated from Warren Harding Class of 1948. 

Mrs. Nash was a long time employee of the Warren Tribune Advertising Department. She was a member of S.C.O.P.E.

Ruth enjoyed ballroom dancing, traveling and watching the horses at Mountaineer. Most of all she loved her family and grandchildren. 

She is survived by her children, Linda Barnard, David Law and Gary (Diane) Law; grandchildren, Dawn, Lisa, Lori, Holly, Jamie and Mariah; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and her aunt Delores French.

Ruth rejoins her dancing partner and love of her life, Al Cannacci; her parents; and a brother Albert Como, Jr.

Funeral services will be held 6 P.M., Monday, January 6, 2014 at Crown Hill Burial Park and Mausoleum, with Pastor Kathy Ake, officiating. Family will receive friends at the mausoleum chapel on Monday from 4 to 6 PM.

John T. Muldowney

1939 - 2014

MuldowneyLIBERTY – John Thomas Muldowney, 74, passed away on January 6, 2014 at Briarfield Manor of Austintown after a short illness.  

He was born December 14, 1939 in Sharon, PA, the son of Paul and Thelma (Prendergast) Muldowney.

John worked for Wheatland Tube for 31 years.  In his younger days, John was an avid hunter and bowler.  He also enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams, the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Indians.  John served his country in the US Navy abound the USS Galveston, from 1957 to 1960.  

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, two daughters, Yvette Wasko and her husband John Wasko of Liberty, and Justine Muldowney and her fiancé Andrew Munera and his daughter, Peyton of Canfield.  He also leaves four grandchildren, Emma, Ellie, Olivia and Andrew, and his four-legged friend Tootsie Roll.  He also leaves his former wife, Martha Muldowney of Liberty and his caregiver, Patti Hedwall.  He leaves one sister, Alice Reiner of Sharon, PA and many nieces, nephews and friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Paul, and four sisters, Joanne, Rosalie, Jean and Mary Jane.

A mass of Christian burial will be at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 343 Via Mt. Carmel Ave., Youngstown, OH on Monday January 13, 2014 at 10:00 AM, with The Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio, celebrating mass.  Friends and family may call one hour before the service at the church and are invited to Mt. Carmel’s social hall for a luncheon following the mass. 

John’s family would like to thank all the staff at Northside Medical Center, Hospice House in Poland and also Briarfield Manor in Austintown for the kind and professional care he received.  
In lieu of flowers, material contributions may be made in John’s name to Animal Charity Humane Society, 4140 Market St. Boardman, OH 44512.

Barbara A. Adgate

1926 - 2014

AdgateFowler- Barbara A. Adgate, 87, passed away Monday, January 6, 2014 at Concord Care Center. 

She was born on December 27, 1926 in Warren, Ohio the daughter of Charles C. and Thelma A. (nee Barber) Wood.

Barbara attended Warren G. Harding High School and was employed with Brainard Steel and Packard Electric. She was also the former co-owner of Lakevue Cleaning Center in Cortland.

Mrs. Adgate was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Warren and the Champion Presbyterian Church, where she enjoyed singing in their choirs. Barbara was a charter member of the Trumbull NewTheater, “TNT.” She enjoyed knitting, playing cards and her beloved dogs.

She is survived by her daughters, Lauri (David) Holmes and Debbe (Mike Kitzmiller) Adgate both of Cortland; a son, Herbert Reed (Eileen Hogenmiller) Adgate, Jr. of Jamestown, PA.; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles (Layes) Wood of Hartford.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert R. Adgate, Sr.; and her parents.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 10, 2014 at 5:00 P.M. at Vienna United Methodist Church, 4265 Warren-Sharon Rd., Vienna, with Pastor Cathy Ake, officiating. Family will receive friends from 4 PM until time of services at 5 PM. A memorial dinner will follow the services. 

Inurnment of cremains at Crown Hill Burial Park and Mausoleum will take place at a later date.

Memorials in memory of Barbara may be given to the Vienna United Methodist Church or the charity of one’s choice.

Helen J. Rattay
1921 - 2014

RattayWARREN - Helen J. Rattay, 92, longtime resident of Warren, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at Community Skilled Nursing Home.

Helen was born Sept. 20, 1921, in Castle Shanon, Pa., the daughter of Joseph and Michelina Zadroz Wenckoski.
       
She graduated from Bellaire High School.
       
Mrs. Rattay was employed with the A&P for 24 years as well as AVI and Convenient before retiring.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and enjoyed crafts, ceramics, crocheting and reading.
       
Helen is survived by her son, Robert (Nancy) Rattay of Warren; daughters, Joyce Evans of Newton Falls and Rita Chegar of Warren; daughter-in-law, Sheryl Rattay of Champion; seven grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
       
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Thomas Rattay; brothers, Walter, Casimir, Stan and James Wenckoski; and her sisters, Stella Perunko and Lucille Barnes.
       
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Bernard R. Schmalzried officiating at the Crown Hill Burial Park and Mausoleum, 3966 Warren Sharon Road, Vienna. The family will receive friends from noon until time of services at 2 p.m.
       
Should friends desire, memorials in memory of Helen may be given to the St. Mary's Catholic Church, 232 Seneca St. N.E., Warren, OH 44481.
